Well friends, I traveled to Poland last week, but Meta-Dog had to stay behind in Germany. So my old friend, 3-year-old Colin Stucki was happy to fill in for the Meta-Dog on my walks in Warsaw and Krakow! So… let’s take a walk with the Action-Boy
(in this first photo you can see his whole Action-Family… Brian was there starring in Philip Glass’s opera version of Fall of the House of Usher )

that’s Colin alseep in the stroller! If only Meta-dog could be so lucky after a day of long walks…
Ettal Abbey was founded in 1330, but has been “Baroqued Out” in the intervening years.

Ben… if you’re reading this… we *may* have picked you up a treat here at the Ettal Kloster Brauerei!

stopping for a little quiet meta-reflection

we remembered it was Halloween just in the nick of time…

I am very sad to report that an SD card failure resulted in the loss of some great photos from our road trip to Seewiesen, Germany. You’ll just have to use your imagination and picture meta-dog walking in the sun along the white cliffs of Dover, riding the Chunnel Train to France, checking out the Cathedral in Riems where there are some amazing sculptures and a stained glass window by Chagall.
But for now… Welcome to Bavaria!
This is actually a combination of two walks… One in downtown Starnberg, the nearest “city” to Seewiesen. And some shots of the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology where we’re staying and working (check out Meta-dog checking on our nest boxes in one photo).
